This conference brings together researchers, practitioners, educators and teachers  from various disciplines and regions to share their insights and best practices on how to enhance teaching and learning of academic language skills and related areas in the field of English-medium Education (EME). With the theme “Developing teachers and learners’ academic language skills and abilities”, the Symposium will present a global view of EME with experts from local and overseas sharing their perspectives.

Theme: Developing teachers' and learners' academic language skills and abilities

The Symposium is organised by the Department of English at the City University of Hong Kong.  It features plenary speakers in both Hong Kong and Overseas. There will also be on-site paper presentations and a discussion panel with experts from the field of English language education. With this hybrid mode of presentation, the joint Symposium will facilitate intellectual exchange between participants from different education contexts, despite geographical distance and time difference. We believe this will be an exciting event and we are glad that you are part of it! We would like to thank the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research, Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government for their generous funding for the project and organsing this symposium.
